Now this feels like a description of your morning commute. What if you pushed that farther? Of course MN buildings don't look much like mountains unless you're thinking downtown MPLS. What if the green arrows 'waved you forward like grass'? I'm still hoping you can push this one further as it's got the energy to carry beyond. How could you show your concluding dismay instead of telling it?
